Special Testing Laboratories, Inc. - Inspectors - Civil/CM
We provide inspection and testing services to the construction industry in Connecticut and Westchester County, NY.
We want to add a Graduate Engineer or Engineer in Training to our team of certified inspectors.
The work environment is a challenging mix of commercial, residential and municipal buildings for clients with high expectations of the services we provide.
The successful candidate will be anxious to continue to expand his expertise into all areas of the construction material inspection industry and will want to obtain all of the certifications necessary to demonstrate the quality of that expertise. Our staff PE has many years experience both in the construction industry and in training staff to maximize their potential.
The inspection process requires a visit to the jobsite, examination of the drawings and specifications, comparison of the material and workmanship being provided at the time of the inspection with that specified and the preparation of a brief report.
The right candidate will be offered competitive pay and benefits as well as the opportunity to develop a valuable and durable career. Field experience is key in continuing education and longevity in the workplace.

My name is Jason Libera, I am from Cromwell Concrete Products Inc. I spoke with you on the phone about a week ago about possible hiring a student to work with us. We are interested in hiring one person full time and possibly one person part time, maybe a part time student. The new hire would be expected to do take offs for catch basins and concrete curbing under the supervision of a 35 year veteran in the field. We are a small office of three full time employees and one part time employee, so this person would also be helping in day to day office work such as helping with customer service also. Our busy season is only weeks away and we would like to get someone in as soon as possible. Mechanical Applications Engineer Trainee
Hello Diane,
This Fairfield County manufacturer has two new trainee positions (see attached). They are most difficult to fill.
To outline the basics of what this company wants for their training
program-- a rare combination:
1. Engaging, outgoing, people-oriented personality 2. Love of travel & willing to travel a week at a time, once a month 3. "Maturity"- 5+ Years of work experience outside of the academic environment 4. Willing to shift to part time classes in pursuing their BS in Mechanical Engineering 5. "Roots in Connecticut"- means grew up there, has family living locally, or married a spouse from here.
6."Strong mechanical aptitude" "A 'gearhead' who works on their own car, etc."
7. U.S. citizenship
They just will not interview people without all of these criteria.
Thanks for your attention. -Kent
